NOTICE — This site is under renovation.

It has been sometime since I created it, and in that time I have added new colorways, explored new shawl shapes, and learned to knit socks, which led to the addition of two lines of sock yarn, as well as fingering and laceweight yarns. Click below to view and download a copy of my Fall 2014 catalog.

In the meantime, feel free to browse the site as it is.

About My Hand-Dyed & Painted Yarns:

Hand-dyeing is an inexact science. I strive for consistency across batches, but no two dye-lots are exactly the same shade. Due to the nature of this process, there are sometimes very slight tonal variations in solid colors. My standards are very high, so if I wouldn't knit with it for myself, I won't send it out.

I dye in small batches and welcome custom orders. I am happy to do sweater quantities upon request at no extra charge--I just need to know how much yardage is required.

As for knots, I try very hard not to have any, but sometimes winding issues happen. Somedays I am convinced that an imp inhabits all my winding equipment.

My yarn choices are guided by the requirements that they feel good when you wear them and when you knit with them. I am continually experimenting with color-mixing and never use anything “straight out of the jar.” I tend towards colors that are rich but subtle and I revel in the exploration of color as it manifests in different yarns.
