A Little Bit About Me. . .

I‘ve been a knitter since the age of nine, when my grandmother first taught me the basics on her front porch hammock. I came to dyeing after years of frustration with seasonal commercial palettes. Once I started making my own colors, designing my own patterns followed naturally. From there, my studio practice came to include plying together these hand-dyed yarns into soft and practical combinations I could not find anywhere else. My yarn choices are guided by the requirements that they feel good when you wear them and when you knit with them. I am continually experimenting with color-mixing and never use anything “straight out of the jar.” I tend towards colors that are rich but subtle and I revel in the exploration of color as it manifests in different yarns.

I use Lanaset/Sabraset professional dyes for all my yarns. These dyes produce outstanding colors which are both light-fast and wash-fast. Due to the nature of the hand-dyeing process, there may be some slight tonal variation in the solid shades. My studio is in my home, and both are smoke-free.

This “catalog” is a work in progress and I will be constantly updating it as new colors and patterns are available. If there is something you would like that you don’t see in this edition, please contact me. I happily invite custom orders and would love to hear from you.
